LONCO's structural engineers have experience in a wide range of project types. LONCO has designed building projects ranging from small retail pad sites to mega super store developments, including, office and industrial buildings and custom residences.

Design of new structures in not all that we can do at LONCO. We regularly perform structural evaluations of existing structures. In fact we have taken our evaluation skills to the next level by adding the ability to develop long-term Capital Improvement Program maintenance projects.

Structural Evaluations

LONCO Engineers are regularly commissioned to evaluate the viability of existing structures. Structural evaluation is an art as well as a science and requires years of experience to develop required techniques. We have that experience level at LONCO. In addition to structural evaluations, LONCO has managed large multidisciplinary teams to develop complete engineering evaluations of municipal and private sector projects.

Special Projects

At LONCO we seem to always attract a certain amount of unique structures. These projects may come from the artistic community or the industrial community. Each has a unique set to structural issues that need to be solved. We have developed armatures for sculptures for use in exhibit type architecture such as zoos, botanical gardens and amusement parks. LONCO engineers have the ability to work with the creative community such as exhibit architects and artists, helping them to express their ideas through unique structural solutions.

Long Term Maintenance Projects

Evaluation of structures is only the initial phase of service we provide, under our evaluation to existing structures. Often we are asked to design repairs and schedule maintenance. We have worked with many clients to develop and prioritize long-term maintenance programs complete with cost estimates for annual budgeting.

Retail/Commercial Design

Over the past few years we have designed a half million square feet of commercial/retail space. We will work with owners and developers to develop fast-track construction solutions to help reduce debt-financing costs. LONCO engineers have experience with large-scale warehouse type retail developments as well as small pad sites. We have aided our clients in developing projects on site that have challenging design restrictions such as expansive soils, high wind areas and difficult site grading conditions. We have experience with a variety of types of building cladding systems such as small slender masonry tilt-up concrete and aluminum and glass curtain wall. We have developed various framing techniques for special entry features.

Office Building Design

LONCO engineers have been responsible for the design of over 100 office and office warehouse buildings. We are experienced in the design of cast-in-place concrete, precast concrete, post-tensioned concrete, structural steel, and steel joist systems. Our goal is to work with owners and architects to develop cost-effective framing systems. We can assist owners/developers by developing early steel and foundation packages for fast-track construction. LONCO also provides value engineering services.

Industrial Projects

LONCO works with process and industrial engineers to help solve the special structural problems they encounter. We work with process engineers to develop special details to support dynamically isolate and mitigate thermal expansion. We have developed special expertise in material handling equipment and silo design.
